Technology Intent

Exodus 35:30-33 ‘The Lord chose Bezalel and filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills – to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts.

Through our technology curriculum, students are encouraged to develop their skills and knowledge across a range of different disciplines, promoting personalised outcomes students will develop a range of skills in a broad range of subjects and projects, focussing on textiles, food, graphics and 3D art.  Our curriculum fosters confidence, creativity and an understanding sustainability in the modern world.  Students will interpret a design brief and apply techniques in each subject to produce a final project. The curriculum allows students to realise that true creativity is grounded in perseverance and challenges are overcome6.

Through the curriculum students will nurture academic habits to develop their ability to analyse modern and historical designers.  Students will stretch themselves spiritually, morally and imaginatively through creative investigations and research, showing character when designing and encouraging exploration through experimentation.  Our curriculum allows children to embrace their mistakes as development and persevere towards a final outcome.

We provide a foundation for students to pursue their hopes and aspirations to further education on their own creative journey.9
