Equipment and uniform 

We believe that high standards of uniform help to establish the tone of Immanuel and provide a clear identity enabling students to identify with their school. Students should wear their school uniform with pride, remembering to be smart on all occasions.

STANDARD UNIFORM FOR YEARS 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 

  • Year group colour V-neck sweatshirt with or without Immanuel logo*
  • Immanuel House tie*  
  • Black blazer with Immanuel logo*
  • Plain black footwear 
  • School bag big enough suitable to carry A4
    school books and folders.
  • Approved logo trousers only*
    (straight or boot cut)

Jewellery and hair:

  • Students are not permitted to wear any jewellery except a watch (not a smart watch) and one small pair of plain gold or silver stud earrings worn in the earlobes.
  • We do not allow long or false nails or eye lashes, rings, bracelets or additional piercings.
  •  Hairstyles should be conventional; we do not allow “fashion” or extreme hair styles or colours (e.g. shaved patterns/tramlines/mohawks or hairstyles where there are significant differences between hair lengths/colours within the haircut).
  • Hair should be a natural colour. No make-up should be worn in Y7 or Y8. Any make-up worn in Y9-11 must be discreet.

PE KIT- (YEARS 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11)

Indoor:

  • A white Immanuel College sports polo shirt* 
  • Navy blue shorts (loose fitting) 
  • White sports socks (ankle length) 
  • Indoor training shoes

Outdoor:

  • Navy blue Immanuel College outdoor shirt*
  • Navy blue shorts (loose fitting)

  • Football boots and outdoor trainers

Football boots are very important as many PE lessons will take place on the field which can sometimes be slippery especially during or after wet weather. Reasonably priced football boots can be purchased online or from most sports shops, expensive football boots do not need to be purchased. Watches/valuables should be handed in at the start of each lesson and will be kept safe whilst in PE. Watches/valuables will be kept safe whilst in PE.


ASSIGNED SWEATER AND POLO SHIRT COLOUR – KEY STAGE 3 (YEARS 7-9)

  • The colour of the uniform sweatshirt and polo shirt (summer term only) rotates so that each year group is easily identified.
  • From the chart below, select the year you will be starting and on the left of entry and you will find the year group colour on the left. • The year group colour is kept throughout Key Stage 3.
  • If a student transfers to Immanuel from another secondary school during Years 7, 8 or 9. They can still use the table below to work out their year group colour. Find the year they started Year 7 at another school and on the left you will find the Immanuel year group colour.

SWEATER AND POLO SHIRT COLOUR – KEY STAGE 4 (YEARS 10 & 11)

The colour of the uniform sweatshirt and polo changes at Year 10, as the students start Key Stage 4 and working towards their GCSEs, to either black or grey. The colour alternates each academic year, with students wearing the same colour throughout Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11).

We also operate a uniform ‘swap shop’ where all items of the school uniform can be donated or exchanged. 

Part of those expectations is that students will wear our uniform with pride and take responsibility for ensuring that every part of their uniform complies with the rules. 

We trust that you will join us in setting these expectations for your son or daughter so that they set their sights high and achieve their best.
